Meet the farming families that produce our food
We are inviting schools from the local West Cork area to apply to visit the farms of our local suppliers.
We woud like to connect children with the food on their plate and how it is locally produced. We will also explain how Irish dairy farming works, our focus on quality and sustainability, and how farming supports West Cork communitiies.

Grass is Class
We often say that grass is Irish dairy’s superpower. This is because Irish farmers are great at growing grass, and feeding our cows with a mostly grass-based diet means they produce dairy that is higher in nutrients than grass from cows in other countries.
Hands-on learning for kids of all ages
Our tours last approx. 1.5 – 2 hours, and will consist of a tour of the farm, including sheds, milking parlour, visiting the cows in the field (at a safe distance) and covering topics such as a day in the life of a farmer, what animals eat, milking cows and where the milk goes, animal welfare, soil and grass, biodiversity and the environment. This will be followed by a tasting of some dairy products. Each child will also receive a take home pack of information and goodies.
