Carbery Group awarded 2023 Exporter of the Year

The Irish Exporters Association, hosted the 2023 Export Industry Awards,in October announced Cork based Carbery Group as the overall 2023 Exporter of the Year after winning the Sustainable Trade Exporter of the Year award.

With 10 high-profile companies winning across 10 categories, this year saw an incredibly competitive judging process. The Export Industry Awards is the IEA’s annual flagship event. 500 export industry professionals, alongside local and international dignitaries, were present for the awards ceremony and black-tie gala dinner, which was moderated by world famous mentalist and magician Keith Barry.

Carbery Group was established in 1965 by four West-Cork creameries and the UK’s Express Dairies. Since then, they have continued to expand and grow, creating new markets for the milk of their farmer shareholders.

Speaking at the Awards Ceremony, Simon McKeever, Chief Executive of the Irish Exporters Association, said: “Tonight, marks the 21st year of the Export Industry Awards, and we are here to recognise the consistent and outstanding achievements of the businesses working in the Irish exporting community. These awards showcase the excellence of Irish business – continuing to highlight the best in innovation and sustainability, from small emerging companies right up to multinational scale; across the manufacturing, Life Sciences, Food & Drink Exporters, and Services sectors, and not to forget the Logistics and Supply chain companies who never fail to provide vital services to the export economy.

Irish exporters have proven to be the bedrock of Ireland’s economic success. IEA members are at the forefront in expanding into new markets and opening the world up to high-quality Irish goods and services. The IEA is proud to play its part in working to increase the presence of Irish exports into more diverse markets.
